At Symbiosis Gathering we were trying to set up our Open-Heart Cafe...
and there was obstacle after obstacle...especially no electricity to our kitchen...Oh My!
I then realized (after a Bhakti-Brother mentioned that it was Ganesha Chathurti)
that we had not yet invoked Shri Ganesh at the begining of this adventure...
so an impromptu Kirtan circle of seven of us formed
and we chanted
"Om Gang Ganapataye Namaha"
and as soon as we began to do this...zoom! the power turns on and remains so for the rest of the event...
problem solved! Jai Ganesha!
(also during this time, a meaning of the invocation of Ganesh came to me...
i realized that by chanting this mantra, i was signaling that i wished to cooperate with the forces of Cosmos
rather than blindly impose my will on it without regard for other life-systems)

Re: Jai Ganesha!
Wed, October 3, 2007 - 1:51 PM- On night 1 of our 7 day puja to Ganeshji for Chathurti this year, right after we brought the clay Murti we made into the temple, a small rat ran out from the wall by the corner. It ran over to the Murti and then all around the room. It stayed for the whole puja walking right up to people then back to the Murti and it even ate some of Ganeshji's Ladu, haha. When we stood for Arti it went back into the wall.
- On the morning we took Ganeshji's Murti to the ocean it had been storming since the start of the puja the night before. We started the Puja at about 6pm. By 5:30am it was still storming and Florida storms are nasty. We took the Murti to the beach at about 6am about an hour before sunrise and there wasnt a cloud in the sky. The water was perfectly still and the send off was beautiful. I enjoyed bathing in the ocean that morning while the sun came up. It was absolutely wonderful.
Jai Jai Jai Jai Ganapati Deva,
Gajanana Hey Gajanana,
Gajanana Hey Ganapati Deva,
Jai Jai Jai Jai Ganapati Deva,
Mata Tara Parvati Pita Mahadeva.
Jai Sri Ganesha Jai Jaya!!!
